This is the story of two city girls (well, one is half country girl) moving from the city to the country. But this is really God’s story. We bought this house for the sole purpose of dedicating it to God and for Him to use it for His glory. Please join us in praying for God to use it in a very special way. It all belongs to Him.

For everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. (1 Chronicles 29:11)

An Old Time Ashville Christmas

One of the best things about living in a small town is being part of a real community.  What a treasure!  This year, Ashville revived an old Christmas tree lighting tradition with cookies, hot chocolate, prayer, the National Anthem and the lighting of the town Christmas tree. Then we all stood around and sang Christmas carols.

Great friends!

What a blessing!
Merry Christmas!

Kids in the coop

It’s been pretty quiet at our house lately.  That is, until this past Friday.  We were blessed to have some kiddos (big and small) over for some fun.

Needess to say that after playing basketball, foosball, ping pong, air hockey, board games, making pizza bagles, climbing in the hay loft, painting chickens on the chicken coop wall and building gingerbread houses, we were exhausted! Even the dogs slept in the next day.

Great fun was had by all.

Oh Christmas Tree!!!!

A country home has to have a real Christmas tree!

Tada!

And then there was Jett

Meet "Jett."
He is the newest addition to our household.
Yeah, we needed a puppy right around Christmas time!  LOL

From the moment we met, I was in love.

A year in review

October 2014
Wow!  We’ve been here almost a year??!!!  That is hard to believe. It was October 2014 when we first laid eyes on our house and here we are in October 2015 already. It has been an incredible year!

Let’s see…
It started at the closing with a new septic system, then we added a horse fence, painted the horse fence (well, partially), cleaned out the barn, planted 10 or 12 trees, planted a BUNCH of flowers and bushes, added a vegetable garden and several flower gardens (we have mulch coming out of our ears), painted the living room, dining room and kitchen, updated the kitchen cabinets, bought new furniture, restored some old furniture, fixed up the front porch, added a new patio door, and a bunch of other additions, changes and updates.

We’ve shaved the dog, bought a new car, seen cats come and go (long story) and in addition, God has allowed us to bring some wonderful friends into our home for cook outs, cook ins, bonfires and evenings of worship.

We’ve seen the most beautiful sunrises we could ever imagine and gone to bed under beautiful starry skies.  We owe all of it to God!  He has truly blessed us!

Whew!  I’m tired.  But it doesn’t stop there…right now, we are in the process of adding a wood burning stove in the living room, finishing painting the fence, fixing up the chicken coop, and painting and updating the family room.  OK, so we are a little bit busy with some projects.  But they are fun projects.  I love seeing the transformation happen.

Here are some before and after photos...
