We found some great stuff in the hay loft of our barn this past weekend. These old chairs, wooden gate, and glass window will be restored into something beautiful some day.
Since we moved into this house I have made a list of projects a mile long and the list keeps growing.
In addition to all the home remodeling projects, I am
finding out that I have a passion I didn’t know I had. I like restoring old things. It is fun to find a beat up old door or an
old window with the paint peeling off and find a new use for it.
In the DIY world, that is called re-purposing.
That is exactly what God does with us isn’t it? If we let
Him, He takes our battered, broken down lives and restores them. He makes all things new.
God is able to see past the decay, the damage, and the deterioration
and sees something beautiful. He is able
to see us as what we could be, not what we are.
Then He gives us a complete makeover and we become something completely brand new. He sees the finished
project, the end from the beginning and then He creates beauty from ashes.
In Him,
we are a new creation.
"Therefore
if anyone is in Christ,
he
is a new creature;
the
old things passed away; behold,
new
things have come."
