This is the story of two city girls (well, one is half country girl) moving from the city to the country. But this is really God’s story. We bought this house for the sole purpose of dedicating it to God and for Him to use it for His glory. Please join us in praying for God to use it in a very special way. It all belongs to Him.

For everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. (1 Chronicles 29:11)

Weekend updates

Wow!  We have been busy!  Over the past few weeks we have been working mostly outside, planting flowers, putting in flower beds, planting trees and wearing ourselves out.

I had to come to work to day to get some rest!  Here is some of our progress...
This bench needs an update.
A little paint sure makes a big difference!

So someone from work is giving us this great church pew.  Let’s see how we can make this work on the front porch…

Special visitors

We are getting some great visitors dropping by the farm (including some great people too).  I managed to catch this beauty at the feeder this past weekend.  I love this little guy!

A beautiful indigo bunting visited our bird feeders today (May, 2015). I really need a telephoto lens.

Gardening, and planting, and rain showers.

What a weekend!  After the kids left, Saturday was full of yard work.  We planted flowers, trees and put in the vegetable garden.  The work needing to be done never ends.  But that's life on the farm and we love it!
Our friend Norm tilling for us.

We planted two plum trees and a crab apple.

Plants ready to go in.

Compost bin.

Preparing the garden

Then the rain storm hit!

After the storm

Roses everywhere!

Kids! Kids! Everywhere!!!

We had our first church/barn event on Friday night. I can only imagine the neighbors peering out of their windows to see three church vans full of 30 screaming kids pull into our drive.  It was so much fun to see them pile out of the vans and scatter all over the property, playing games, sitting by the fire and just being kids.  They played basketball, ping pong, Foosball, air hockey and kick the can.

No camp fire is complete without s'mores.  There were a lot of s'mores and sticky fingers.  Our thoughtful pastor and his helpers brought plenty of wet wipes.

It really felt different to give our property for people to use and then pack up and leave. We didn't have to do anything except start the fire.  They set up, entertained the kids, and cleaned up.  It felt strange but it felt good.

I pray it is just the beginning.
